Note: From 2024–25, ATL Marathon communications have referred to the challenge as School Innovation Marathon (SIM) with the same spirit and structure. This page compiles verified rules and the last edition’s schedule to help schools plan, while linking to the live portal for 2025–26 specifics.

📅 Schedule

The 2025–26 schedule will be announced on the SIM portal. Based on the 2024–25 edition, the typical flow was:

  • Launch: 29 July 2024
  • Skilling & Workshops: Aug–Nov 2024
  • Final Submission: 30 Nov 2024
  • Top Teams Announced: Jan 2025
  • Funding Support: Mar 2025
  • Internships (SIP): May 2025 onward
  • Grand Innovation Showcase: 29 July 2025

⚠️ For 2025–26, watch the SIM portal for the official launch and submission deadline. Schools should plan internal shortlists and mentor time accordingly.

🎯 Eligibility & Team Composition

  • Open to Classes 6–12 across ATL and Non‑ATL schools (teams from non‑ATL schools may collaborate with an ATL school where needed).
  • Team size: up to 3 students + 1 teacher/ATL In‑charge. No individual entries.
  • No cap on number of teams per school.

📝 What to Submit

  • Research / Project Document summarising the problem, research, solution & impact.
  • Video (≈3 minutes) showing the working prototype/solution and team’s journey. (Check portal for format/size limits.)

🧩 Themes

In 2024–25, the umbrella theme was “Viksit Bharat 2047” with focus areas like Digital Transformation, Health & Well‑being, Quality Education, Economic Empowerment, Smart & Resilient Communities, Sustainable Development, Agriculture, and an Open category. The 2025–26 theme will be declared on the SIM portal.

🏅 Recognition & Prizes

  • Top teams receive funding support (MoE/MIC), internships via the Student Innovator Programme (SIP) & pathways to the Student Entrepreneurship Programme (SEP).
  • Special certificates are issued (e.g., top teams state‑wise, rural, government schools, aspirational districts, and inclusion categories).
  • All participating teams get certificates.

How to Register (Teacher)

  1. Visit the SIM portal and create/login to your school account.
  2. Add team(s) (≤3 students each), assign a mentor/teacher, and pick a theme.
  3. Upload the research document & prototype video; submit before the deadline.
