🏛 What is SET (for Commerce/Management)?

SET–General is Symbiosis International (Deemed University)’s UG entrance for BBA, BBA(IT)/BCA, B.Sc (Economics), BA (Mass Comm), Liberal Arts, etc.
For Law use SLAT; for B.Tech use SITEEE. (All three use the same portal—choose the test(s) you need.)

Registration: Jan – Apr 2026
Admit Card: Late Apr 2026
Exam Window: Early–Mid May 2026 (usually 2 test days; morning/afternoon slots)
Result: Late May 2026
Institute Shortlisting + PI/WAT/Studio (as applicable): May–Jun 2026

Mode: CBT (English) • Duration: ~60 minutes
Questions: ~60 MCQs; typically +1 each; no negative marking (confirm in brochure)

Shortlisting: Institute-specific, based on SET–General score ± sectional emphasis.

English: RC (business/social passages), vocabulary-in-context, grammar & usage, sentence improvement.
Quant/DI: percentages, ratio–proportion, profit–loss, averages, mixtures, time–speed–distance, SI/CI, basic probability/P&C; tables, charts, caselets.
Logical Reasoning: arrangements, series, coding, analogies, syllogisms, direction, clocks/calendars, data sufficiency.
GK/Business Awareness: recent budgets/policies, companies & CEOs, banking/markets basics, national–international current affairs.

Register on the SET portal; create account.
Choose test(s): select SET–General (and SLAT/SITEEE only if needed).
Select programs & institutes (e.g., SCMS Pune/Noida/Nagpur BBA, SSE B.Sc Eco) and pay program fee(s)—mandatory for shortlisting.
Choose test city/slot, upload photo/sign, pay test fee, submit.
Download admit card, sit the CBT.
Track result → shortlisting calls → PI/WAT/Studio → final merit list → offer & fee payment.

Carry Admit Card + valid Photo ID (exact name match), reach before reporting time.
Follow CBT rules (biometric/CCTV). Rough sheets provided; obey invigilator instructions.

English: 1 RC every day, grammar drills (agreement, modifiers, parallelism, punctuation), practice summary & tone.
Quant/DI: nail ratio/percent/interest/averages first; then DI sets; keep an error log.
LR: timed puzzles; learn standard templates (arrangements, syllogisms).
GK: 12-week news recap; focus on business/economy + national events.
Mocks: 6–8 full-length with sectional timing; analyze accuracy and speed.

Do I need to apply to SCMS separately? Yes. Test registration alone isn’t enough; submit program applications or you won’t be shortlisted.
Negative marking? Recent cycles: generally no for SET–General (confirm in 2026 brochure).
Can I take more than one test? Yes (e.g., SET–General + SLAT), each with its own fee.
BBA via JEE/other tests? For Symbiosis BBA, use SET–General (JEE Main applies to SIT B.Tech via SITEEE/JEE, not BBA).
